Vintage A-833 4 Speed Transmission 18 Spline HEMI Setup for Chevy Drag Race RARE

This is a real deal New Process A-833 4 speed transmission. This is the heavy duty unit with the 18 spline input shaft that was made for use with the Mopar 426 Hemi and 440 6 pack engines.

This was the strongest transmission available in the late 60's-early 70's. All the top dog racers had or wanted a Hemi 4 speed. They are well known for the strength, reliability, and simplicity.

Finding a true 18 spline A-833 transmission today is a very difficult task. Don't miss this awesome transmission. This transmission is in good condition as shown. It looks to wear its original paint with inspection marks as shown. The pad on the side of the transmission is stamped: "PP833 3394 0052".

I believe this shows the transmission was originally built November 12th, 1970. The internals are as nice as the externals as shown. The gears have been pro shifted, likely by Liberty transmission, for smoother hard shifts in drag racing applications.

The input shaft engagement teeth have wear as shown and are still usable as is. All gears look very nice with no rust, pitting, or broken teeth. This transmission was last used behind a Big Block Chevy engine. It has a Lakewood bellhousing with proper spacer for a Chevrolet application.

The input shaft snout have also been shortened for a Chevrolet application. A new input shaft and correct bellhousing would make this trans correct for a Mopar application. The shifter is a early Hurst Super Shifter with the reverse lockout, large diameter rods, and high shifter mount as shown. Don't miss this awesome chance to own a 18 Spline Hemi 4 speed trans!
