VINTAGE ENICAR SHERPA Super Divette rare vintage dive watch
The watch has just undergone a complete movement service and check at my watchmaker, and has had a new plexiglass fitted. The original one will also come with the watch.
The watch has the cool feature of a rare and unusual inner rotating bezel controlled by the second crown. It also has a''Super Compressor case - hence the'Seapearl' designation on the outside. The watch measures about 36mm across without the crown, but seems to wear a bit larger than this in my opinion - it's certainly larger than for example a Rolex Explorer/Datejust watch, and it looks fabulous on the wrist.
There are a number of articles on the web summarising the various features of these watches. This is a particularly good one. You'll see that this example has the single inverted triangle hour marker at 12, and mk3 hour and minute hands, with the rare additional luminous strip in the minute hand. I have left these all as found, and resisted the temptation to replace the lume markings.
The dial has the'automatic' marking and'T SWISS MADE T' denoting the use of tritium for luminous material. The case back marking shows reference 125/004.
